What Good Person does
Good Person connects people who need help in a moment of need with nearby volunteers — their neighbors — who can physically respond. Available as a mobile app and here on the web.
Users choose when to be available for emergency alerts by going into active status. Only users who are actively available receive alerts near them.
SMS and Messaging
GoodPeopleGroup.Org uses SMS text messaging to notify users of emergencies in their area when they are actively available to help, and for account-related messages such as verification codes and important announcements.
Opting in is entirely optional and off by default. You may tick a consent box when creating your account, and you can change your preference at any time from your profile settings — or by replying STOP to any text message.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
