Privacy Policy

GoodPeopleGroup.Org, a division of the Agnostic Church, operates the Good Person application on mobile and web. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have over that information.

SMS / Text messaging

You may choose to opt in to SMS text messages at registration or later in your profile settings. If you opt in, we may send you:

• Emergency notifications when you are in active status
• Account-related messages (verification codes, security alerts, important announcements)

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by unchecking the preference in your profile or by replying STOP to any message. STOP immediately ends SMS delivery to your number; no further messages will be sent.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in status, consent data, or phone number with any third parties. The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

What we collect

• Account information: email address, display name, optional phone number
• Home address (for emergency routing and jurisdiction lookup)
• Location data while you are in active status (temporary, for dispatch only)
• Your communication preferences, including SMS opt-in status

How we use your data

• To authenticate and identify you in the app
• To connect you with Good Person users near your location during emergencies
• To route emergency requests to qualified nearby volunteers
• To send you messages you have opted in to receive

Service providers

We work with the following providers to operate the service. They process data on our behalf under standard data-processing agreements and are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose.

• Twilio — SMS delivery (only for opted-in users)
• Google Cloud Platform — geocoding, translation, authentication-related services
• Mochahost — web and application hosting

Your rights

You may:

• Update your information at any time via your profile
• Opt out of SMS messaging at any time (see SMS section above)
• Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the address above

Changes to this policy

We will notify registered users via in-app notification and/or by email message if we materially change this policy.
